Dana Elaine Owens is an American musician and singer, better recognized under the stage name, Queen Latifah. Queen Latifah is an American rapper, actress as well as a singer. Queen Latifah was the daughter of an Newark New Jersey schoolteacher and a Newark New Jersey police officer Lancelot Owens Senior, was raised and born within Newark New Jersey.
