John Denver is a popular artist and musician who has touched many people with his music. The majority of his hits were inspired by Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in the love of Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. There were many who beat a path towards Colorado following the Denver's cult anthems to his adopted state. It's hard to think of another performer in the world who is as empathetic to Colorado such as John Denver said G. Brown Curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. The year 2011 was the year that John Denver was selected as the Hall of Fame's first inductee. Denver is the icon of Colorado to many throughout the world. In my travels I've met folks from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell them that you're from Colorado First words that they'll hear are Oh John Denver. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career in a folk group which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff composed the track with Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver first heard the song immediately, he realized the song was likely to become a hit single. Just a couple of days after performing for a packed crowd on the streets of Washington D.C., the singer recorded his song.
