Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman from the United States. Buss is the founder and director of Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss, who is originally from California is a member of an very wealthy family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate businessman who became manager of the Lakers and other sports businesses. Their relationship ended in 1972 and she began to feel that she was emotionally left behind. At the age of 19 she was able to take over management of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. Then, she established the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum, before becoming Vice President of the Lakers. Buss inherited her share of the Lakers from her father in 2013. Five siblings of hers took over the franchise through an estate trust. She assumed the office as the president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also co-owner of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion that is based in Los Angeles.
